Rob please send me those other scaffolding bits when u can cause i have to use them for wall jump. It's designed with some puzzles, tricks u use to get up places, i'll show you all what i mean when I see you all after work on monday.

Background

Few screenshots for you Rob. I'm gonna need a really big high detailed background for the lower area of the level...like the one you made already but tiling and higher res. also please remove the trees and give them to me as single layer objects so i can overlay them....not built into the background. that make sense?

I need to put the background images very far back like so: (maybe even further)

Level

Hey peeps,
level is starting to look pretty good. I will post it for y'all tomorrow, It ain't finished of-course, but probably about 1/3rd done. I've made the level many levels up as well...dunno how u guys will like this. Also there are many paths to take in the level, so we should make some sort of pick-ups or bonuses so that players can justify going to these areas. Or perhaps we go to each area to collect certain pieces of a key, so that we can open the gate where the end boss is located. what do u guys think about that?

Anyway, I'll post it tomorrow on googledocs so u guys can have a look. then after that there will be more progress that u guys will see thursday.

feel better???




get flat colour out of you head. just because something is stylised or cartoony doesn't mean that you put no effort into the texturing. i want you to be proud of your work. your artwork should tell a story. Flat colour don't say anything. what is the beam. is it rusted, was it once painted and the paint is chipping off or has someone come along and tagged the beams with graffiti. paint studs into the beam.

start off with the flow really low like 10 and make the transfer pen pressure. paint really light. also use the smudge tool and also use a scattered textured brush. needs to look like it has been painted by hand. make the edges of the objects darker than the middle.
